MY STORY
Who I Am
Since I was very young, I have wanted to work in sports. During my years in high school and college I learned what it takes to be a good sports journalist. From writing stories to capturing moments on video, I have enjoyed the opportunties the sports world has given me.

BACHELOR OF ARTS IN ELECTRONIC MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION, TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY
August 2012-May 2016
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media and Communication from Texas Tech University. Here I learned the ins and outs of the sports journalism industry. During my four years I was a member of the Saddle Tramps, an all-male spirit organization that supports Texas Tech Athletics and the Lubbock community. I also served as a news anchor for the College of Media and Communications' newscast MCTV.
SAN ANTONIO CHRISTIANÂ HIGH SCHOOL
August 2009-May 2012
During my years in high school, I learned about written and broadcast journalism. I served on my high school magazine's staff, writing and reporting on sport stories for every monthly issue. I also served as the lead sports anchor and later news anchor for my school's television broadcast known as KSAC News. During my senior year I also broadcasted my school's football and basketball games using a NewTek Tricaster. I served as the play-by-play announcer.

PHOTOJOURNALIST, KIII 3 NEWS
April 2021-Present
As a photojournalist for KIII 3 News, I shoot and edit stories for newscasts. These stories include ones in the community, breaking news and even sports.
NEWSÂ SPECIALIST & PHOTOJOURNALIST, KFDA NEWSCHANNEL 10
April 2019-April 2021
As a news specialist and photojournalist I assisted in the production of newscasts for Amarillo’s CBS affiliate news station. I helped run studio cameras, audio and edit news stories for newscasts. I also served as a photojournalist which consisted of shooting and editing news stories and occasionally sports highlights for newscasts.
VIDEOGRAPHER, TEXAS TECH ATHLETICS BROADCAST SERVICES
September 2016-February 2020
As a videographer, I filmed live sporting events for the athletic department. My footage was projected onto video screens at the arena or stadium. The footage I obtained was live in-game action, which was also used for instant replays. I also filmed spectators in the crowd during stoppages of play that are also featured during promotional segments. If it was a Texas Tech TV game, my footage was also used during the television broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest networks. I was also responsible for setting up and taking down the cameras and equipment used with them. Sports I have filmed include football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, soccer, and softball.

January 2019-February 2020
As a videographer for FOX Sports, I filmed live sports aired on the FOX family of networks. My footage was used during live television broadcasts. I was also responsible for helping set up and breaking down the cameras and equipment used during the broadcast.

March 2017-May 2019
As a staff writer for RedRaiderSports.com, I was responsible for writing articles every week for this Texas Tech sports website. This site is a part of the Rivals.com network owned by Yahoo Sports. Articles I wrote were topics on Texas Tech sports and recruiting. I also wrote a daily weekday column called "This, That and the Other" which covers what is new in sports, entertainment, etc. I also managed the site’s social media accounts to ensure it was posting content daily. This ranged from posts about live sports to links to articles posted on the website.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WRITER,FANSIDED
June 2018-March 2019
As a college football contributing writer for the FanSided network, I wrote articles every week covering various college football topics. I wrote stories about breaking news, all NCAA teams, and opinion pieces concerning everything college football.

As a contributing writer for Air Alamo, I wrote articles every week for this San Antonio Spurs fan blog, part of the FanSided network. Stories I wrote were about news, rumors, and opinions concerning the San Antonio Spurs basketball team.

As a contributing writer for Viva The Matadors, I was responsible for writing an article every week for this Texas Tech athletics sports blog part of SB Nation.com. SB Nation is a collection of sports blogs dedicated to collegiate athletics and professional sports.
INTERN, KTTZ-TV
June 2015-August 2015
I interned at the KTTZ-TV station for my EMC 3390 required internship course. KTTZ-TV is the home of Texas Tech Public Media and produces stories for their shows Inside Texas Tech and 24 Frames. There I worked closely with the directors and producers of the station and learned about editing, filming, and producing. I produced video final projects as part of the job.
MCTV
October 2014-May 2016
Mass Communications Television (MCTV) is a student produced newscast under the supervision of Josh Robinson at the Texas Tech College of Media and Communication. As an anchor, I delivered local news related to the Texas Tech campus during the newscast. This also included writing my own scripts. As a production assistant I controlled sound and/or imported graphics and b-roll during the live newscast.
SPORTS INTERN, NEWS 4 SAN ANTONIO
August 2011-July 2012
As intern/production assistant with the sports news team, I obtained statistics as well as helped prepare highlights and script information for local sporting events. I assisted Don Harris, David Chancellor and Josh Saunders with the script and production of the sports newscast. I assisted the camera crew on the sidelines and in the locker room as needed for interviews with the San Antonio Spurs and special sporting events such as the Valero Alamo Bowl.
PROFICIENCIES

With a full two year of experience in news photography I understand the elements of visual storytelling for newscasts. I have shot video voice-overs (VOs), sounds on tape (SOTs) and packages.
